In light of yesterday's post on hope and my generally pessimistic estimation of God's ability to care for and bless His children, a couple things happened today that are kind of eerie:
1. I had Bible study and prayer with Warren this morning. We were studying John 1 and he said the bit that stuck out to him was this: "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." Warren commented, "I wonder if we really believe that. You know: that God pours out His blessing upon us, one after another."
Umm....yeah. We talked about that a bit. Yes, God does bless and He wants to bless us. We can have hope.
2. Before going over to Warren's however, I read this Scripture from Proverbs 23 as indicated by my devotional guide: "There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off."
Ummm...yeah. Do you think God may be trying to tell me something about hope?
Yeah, I think so.
