Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed today by the Senate to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. I'm not sure the word "historic" is the best adjective to describe this. Perhaps "momentous" is a better word since Ms. Sotomayor is the first Hispanic to gain a seat on the Supreme Court and only the third woman out of 111 Supreme Court Justices. This post is accompanied with a prayer: "God, please grant Ms. Sotomayor the wisdom to make just decisions. Amen."
Below is a short video of the vote earlier today, confirming President Obama's nomination of Ms. Sotomayor. She won the seat 68 to 31.
