The single greatest wonder to me is the reality that God
never gives up on me. No matter what has gone before, a new day dawns. He is
the God of the eternal Second Chance, even in our darkest hour.
I have lost count how many times I have been forgiven and
given a chance at a new start. I have lost count how many times a dream has
been put to death—only to be resurrected. I have lost track of the number of
times I’ve felt like giving up, but God has, by his mercy and grace, instilled
my spirit with a sense of fresh hope.
Today is one of those days for me. Imagination is my friend
again. I cannot tether the wind of his Spirit; I can only let it carry me away.
The wonder is: any day can surprise anyone with new birth.
Overwhelm us, Lord, with your never-ending grace.
