a time to plant and a time to harvest

Tiller of my heart,
root up that which you have not sown.

He knows the varied weather of your heart. He knows if it will be a dry season. He knows when storms may rage. He is able to water and protect.

He also knows the right kind of seed to sow. He knows when the time is right to plant and when it is time to harvest. He is a wise farmer. You can trust his wisdom.

You do not need to worry that God is able to make your life fruitful and abundant. Jesus will never plant anxiety in your life. Worry is a weed that spreads. It creates other weeds. Worry strained is doubt. To doubt God’s goodness is to diminish the return of his loving labor.

He is always at work. He knows that weeds will grow and he is patient to pluck them out. Let him pluck them out. It does hurt but it is for your own good.

God can only give you what is good. He will never give you anything that is bad for you. He will never do anything to you that will harm you. If you do not understand why he plows your heart a certain way, do not ask him to change his methods, simply ask him to grant you patience and the wisdom to wait for the glorious harvest. Some day it will become clear why he works a certain way, if not in this life, certainly in the next.

Simply attend to what he is doing. There is no need to think what you must do for he is planting, he is watering and he will do the reaping.

Others, like seed sown on good soil,
hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—
thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown.
Mark 4:20
