Meaghan enjoyed our furlough in the States. When asked what her favorite part was, she said without hesitation: "Seeing family."

But yesterday, soon after entering our home, she walked resolutely to the message board we keep in our entry way, erased whatever was written there in chalk and wrote three simple words:



I smiled knowingly.
