patient winter

Life is short. Thankfully, God’s grace is a whole lot longer.

I find that I am in a hurry about most everything these days. The scope of rush spans all the way from…

…puzzles to prayer
…cooking to cleaning
and
…reading to writing.

It has been too long since I’ve spent time with Queen Sabbath. That has not been for lack of being visited by her. She has come knocking but I have not answered the door.

I am not saying I’ve been busy with work. That is not the case. It’s just that even my leisure has a scattered and harried mark to it. Let’s call it “anxious free time”.

Tell me you can relate. Better yet: say a slow prayer for me. Perhaps I’ll try singing a seventy-fold Amen with the God of forty-three patient winters.
